Terms of service

By using sellcodebase (the “Service”) you agree to these terms. The Service lets you submit GitHub repositories you own in exchange for a flat per-line payment.

You must be at least 18, have the legal right to sell the code you submit, and own all rights necessary to transfer it. You may not submit code owned by an employer, client, or third party unless you have written authorization.

We do not guarantee an offer on any submission and may decline a submission at any time. If we accept a submission, we hold the snapshot under review for potential sale to a third-party AI lab. There is no offer at submission time. If we close a sale of your codebase to a third party, you receive a percentage of the sale price; the percentage is set per submission and shared with you when an offer is available, and you accept or decline the offer there. We use cloc to count qualifying source lines on the submitted snapshot for internal assessment and may exclude generated code, lockfiles, vendored dependencies, and minified bundles at our discretion. The in-app baseline estimate is informational only and is not an offer. Approved payouts go out via PayPal, Wise, or bank transfer.

You retain full ownership of every repository until we mark a submission as paid. Once paid, you assign to sellcodebase a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and sublicense the submitted snapshot for any purpose, including AI model training.

You represent that the submitted code (a) is original or properly licensed to you, (b) does not contain secrets, personal data, or third-party copyrighted material you lack rights to, and (c) does not violate any law. You agree to indemnify sellcodebase against claims arising from a breach of these representations.

You may cancel a pending submission any time before it is reviewed. Once a submission is marked paid, the transfer is final.

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for breach of these terms or fraudulent activity.

We may update these terms. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
